Product Description

Already a massive underground best-seller in the US, this extraordinary book acts as a battering ram against the distortions, myths and outright lies put out by the government, corporations, the media and others who want to keep the truth from us. Packed with contributions from Noam Chomsky, Howard Bloom, Howard Zinn, R U Sirius, Alex Constantine and many more, it dispenses with speculation and theorising and cuts right to the bone with fact after substantiated fact.

Customer Reviews

Total Rubbish1
A sad collection of so called lies, and media distortion which amount to lies and utter distortion in themselves.
I would not even give this book to a jumble sale, it went into the recycling where it belongs.
Save your money and buy something else.

Reviewers missing the point5
kapple999 has missed the point entirely about the Bible Code essay in this book. The point the author was trying to make is that it is a massive generalisation to insist that there is a code to modern events in the bible...it was a joke...get it?!

This (as well as others produced by the disinformation gang) is a VERY important book lambasting what we think we know about issues so entrenched in the psyche of many societies: especially religion.

My only criticism is that I would have liked to have seen more topics written by, and about, women. After all, we are the subject about which there's the most disinformation circulating!!

This book is full of lies, myths & manipulations2
A book with an apt title, but not in the way the authors might want you to believe.

About 1 in 3 of the 60+ essays were interesting and informative, particularly the first 80 pages on the media, but when I started reading about events that I had witnessed with my own eyes, and saw how they were being misrepresented, I began to question the content of those hitherto influential other pieces.

So the revelation is that it's this book itself that is lying to me (at least in parts)! It is also very hard physically to read – large (9inches x 12 inches) and heavy (nearly 400 pages).

Then when it ran out of 'sensible topics' to discuss, we got deeper into the real fringe stuff, like how the word NAZI keeps cropping up imbedded in every day words like ‘geNerAliZatIon’ – well it doesn’t in British English where we spell it 'generalisation' - sorry to ruin the beautiful theory.

Save a few braincells and retain your objectivity – give this one a miss.
