Product Description

Latin Prep is a new three part course following the revised CE syllabus through the 3 Levels. Attention is paid to clear grammatical explanations, constant repetition of the prescribed vocabulary, and a format that ties in with what pupils will meet in the exam. Where the going gets a little tough, we throw in a joke or a silly comment and some illustrations from our resident comic genius, Ian Douglass. A separate volume is in preparation which will cover the Background material required for the revised syllabus. Because this material is not specific to particular levels of the Latin exam, it seemed best to keep it together in one volume so that pupils may use it, whichever level they are attempting.

Latin Prep5
Theo Zinn under the auspices of Nick Oulton at Galore Park breathes new life into prep school Latin with this purpose-written course. Language work is introduced in a quirky and child-friendly way, while regaining much of the rigour laid aside by other recently produced textbooks. The emphasis is on learning through practice, with every new topic tested via Latin-to-English and English-to-Latin translation. In addition, each chapter ends with a vocabulary list of 20 from the list of 200 words prescribed for the revised Common Entrance syllabus, so removing the need for 'selective' revision at the end of the day. A very welcome book.
