The pretender to Most Haunted's crown.4
The British obsession with the paranormal has spawned several different series. Everyone knows of Most Haunted. The two spin-offs from that are Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns and Richard Felix' Haunted Locations. Now we have Haunted Homes.

The focus of Haunted Homes are ordinary families living in ordinary houses. There are no grand estates are castles here. Mia Dolan is the resident psychic, Mark Webb is the paranormal investigator and Dr. Chris French offers a sceptics opinion. Alan Rook does an excellent job of presenting the series.

Six different families open their doors to the Haunted Homes team. The Hassett family hear children's voices in their home. Doors open and objects move inexplicably. The cellar, which curiously contains a well, seems to be the focal point of the activity. After experimenting with a ouija board the Munday family begin to see the figure of a man in their house. Voices are heard and the smell of rotting fish nauseates the family. The Scriven family believe their home is haunted by the ghost of a man whose features appear to be rotting. A photograph appears to show a dark figure in a mirror. The Elvin family regularly see the figure of a man in their home. Their little boy calls him "the monster man." A camera running in their daughter's bedroom picks up a distinctive male voice. The Stevens family take photographs of their newly rennovated home only to find "faces" looking out from the upstairs windows. The spirit of a woman, at last, proves to be a nusance for the family. At the end of each episode Mia Dolan performs a clearing ceremony and offers a prayer in latin.

Unfortunately, Haunted Homes does suffer from a few paranormal T.V. cliches such as the sinister background music and hammy reconstructions. Otherwise, for fans of paranormal T.V. and at such a low price I would recommend it highly.

(Probably not) Haunted Homes2
Haunted Homes is yet another TV show attempting to cash in on the success of Most Haunted. As the previous reviewer suggested, nothing is EVER caught on tape! Whereas MH at least attempts to be impartial over its findings, in this show it is the Medium (Mia Dolan) who leads things, and therefore any 'evidence' collected is nearly always spiritual. If ITV really needed a ghost show, why didn't they just buy MH from Living and put some more money into it? HH is just complete drival! There are really only 4 DVDs on this sort of thing worth getting - MH; Ghosthunters; Dead Famous and Strange But True. Anything else just isn't worth spending your hard earned cash on... It is a valid attempt to try something different, but alas folks, this format just ain't working!

A relatively good DVD3
Really enjoyed watching the DVD, it does outlines the work of the talented Mia Dolan as she goes to supposingly haunted homes across the UK. with Mia being working as a Psychic for over 20 years, her work really shows and with how comfortable and focused she is. The only down side was i would have liked to have seen more footage, there wasnt really anything captured or anything out of the ordinary from making all the episodes different on this dvd and they didnt seem to do a long enough vigial for each episode, it was more of the same technique, also how it repeated conversations from the investigators on their work and definitions. I am very interested in Mia's work and would watch/read further things portrayed from her.
