An Excellent Reference Work
John Simmonds has been a collector of paperweights for 25 years and during that time has built up a varied collection of both antique and modern examples.
This book is a must both for the beginner or the more experienced collector. In fact for anyone who has an interest in the paperweights made in Britain between the years of 1930 through to 2000. The author has listed over 2,000 paperweights, some of which have never been illustrated before.
Most of the main factories are covered including Strathearn, Caithness, Whitefriars etc. Some of the illustrations cover work by the Ysart family. Paul Ysart who settled in Scotland had a great influence on the Scottish paperweights. All in all this is and will be a good reference volume for many years to come.
