Good show- pity the synopsis is wrong.5
Note- this show is NOT about Miami and the csi team is NOT led by Horatio Caine. If it was, it would be called CSI Miami. Instead, it is about a team of attractive Las Vegas forensic scientists who solve cases using cool gadgets and snappy one-liners. Neither of the other two follow up shows (Miami and New York) are anywhere near as good as the original, possibly because William Peterson isn't in them. I think that this is one of the best shows on television at the moment, and series 4 is just as good as the first three seasons. Buy it and you'll be hooked.

Great Episodes, Awful Extras5
This Season is a return to the superior entertainment of Seasons 1 and 2 (I thought Season 3 was only 'OK', with too many below-par episodes).

The scripts have more of a bias towards the CSI team as personalities and, most importantly, the crime plots are once again superior to anything else on TV; the best example in Part 1 being 'Jackpot'.

One factor of the DVDs which continues to be a disappointment are the episode commentaries, they are without exception awful. Rather than give interesting insights into the episode production, there is too much friendly chit-chat between the contributors and way too much time spent saying how good someone was or what a great job so-and-so did.

I think if a commentary was done by, for example, William Peterson we might learn more; he is after all one of the Producers, so why doesn't he contribute ?

Aside from this small gripe, the episodes themselves are spectacular and the production values excellent.

The 'production process' featurette is quite interesting.

Fantastic entertainment !

CSI Season 4.1- Grissom's New Beard5
I had waited a long time for season 4 to come out. I loved the first three and was hoping the rest was of the evidently high production quality. I was not incorrect in my hoped statement. With possibly classic episodes, it is the best of the DVD releases so far. With a lovely purple box, it succeeds in producing the finer moments of the episodes in the CSI finesse associated with the genre.

The episodes in the season contain the wondrous two-parter opening 'Assume Nothing' and 'All for our country', with the deaths of swinging couples being investigated by Grissom and his team. They are fun, interesting and compel your attention for the time they are on. One of the better episodes is 'Fur and loathing', in the style of the curious CSI episodes that you often get when the producers decide to introduce something new into the mix. People dressed as raccoons have never been so appealing. The final episode of this first part of season four concerns a dead woman who looks remarkably like Sara, which has a profound effect on Grissom.

The episodes always look stylish and of high quality, and are enjoyable all the way through. The menus are nothing special, but who needs menus when you have such excellent episodes as these. They include guest stars such as Willie Garson, and the excellent Xander Berkely, superiorin his role as George Mason 24, enters the CSI mix as a sheriff. The DVDs are a must buy for anyone who loves the programme. You can watch an episode of this season as a complete 'newbie' to it, and become enthralled form the first moment.

In conclusion, a must buy for absoulutely anyone.
