Synopsis
The first of two spinoffs launched by the hugely popular television series CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, CSI: MIAMI introduces a new cast of crime fighters operating from a forensics lab unit in the tropical climes of southern Florida. David Caruso (NYPD BLUE) anchors the series as tortured homicide detective Horatio Caine, who leads an investigative team that includes Southern-belle ballistics expert, Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter); streetsmart tough guy, Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane); underwater recovery expert, Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez); and no-nonsense coroner, Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander). While sharing its parent show's penchant for grisly crime re-enactments, the spinoff places greater emphasis on police work, rather than science, and boasts a flashier cinematographic style that befits its sunkissed and stylish Miami locale. This collection presents every episode from the series' second season.

Superb DVD box set.
Having watched this, this series is far better than series 1. All the caracters have deleloped background storylines, or storylines that emerge through the series itself.
Caines story has been written very well, and in this series we learn more about his late Brother, Raymond. It also shows more of his past activities, and how Horaitio has had to clean up some of his past mistakes.
As always, the price of the U.K editions of C.S.I have always in my eye been very expensive. It was only after buying this series and series 3 of Miami from Amazon.com instead have made me realise why the U.K versions are so expensive. U.S box sets of C.S.I are plastic and have no printed booklet describing what happens in each episode. If you compare this to the U.K box set, which is printed on high gloss cardboard, is generally more expensive than if you printed it on plastic. Also the cover art on the U.K edition is different to the U.S, and already mentioned the printed episode booklet insert. This also applies to all the C.S.I Vegas series 1-5 too, they also adapt the same layout, plastic box sets.
However, dispite all this if you don't mind a "cheaper" look of box set then ordering a multi region DVD player and buying your box sets from Amazon.com might be right up your street. It could also save you some £££'s too. The other bonus is, if like me you can't wait for one series to the next, ordering from the U.S means you get the series miles ahead of a U.K realease date.
Their is only one snag to all of this, dispite being cheaper than the U.K sometimes customs may require a customs charge. This "sting" can be avoided by "shipping options" through Amazon.com when you pay for for your particular item.
