Synopsis
The second of two spin-offs launched by the hugely popular television series C.S.I. - CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, C.S.I. - NEW YORK distinguishes itself with an even darker, grittier tone than either of its predecessors by grounding the action in the gloomy aftermath of post-9/11 New York. The always brilliant Gary Sinise anchors the series as sternly professional former-Marine police detective Mac Taylor, whose stoic exterior masks the pain of losing his wife in the World Trade Center attacks. Taylor's forensics team includes his tough-as-nails partner, Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes); the sexy but street-smart investigator Aiden Burn (Vanessa Ferlito); no-nonsense tough guy Don Flack (Eddie Cahill); smart-aleck detective Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo); and the briskly efficient coroner, Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper). Bathed in sombre, blue-tinged cinematography, the spin-off emphasizes well-drawn character development without sacrificing any of the grisly criminal and scientific elements that made its parent show such a smashing success. Presented here is a selection of episodes from the show's fourth series.

CSI NY5
CSI New York is brilliant. After the season three finale (snow day) I was expecting great things from season four. It didn't dissapoint at all it was fantastic. I've watched it on TV and will eventually be getting season four parts 1 and 2 box sets. The episodes that stood out to me from season four were Down the Rabbit hole, Boo, DOA for a day, Taxi, and Hostage however I enjoyed all the episodes. There was a wonderful mix of storylines and mystery. Although there has been the writers strike it hasn't affeted CSI:NY too much, it has only been cut short by about 2 or 3 episodes. Higly recommended, all I can say is roll on season 5.

CSI New York Season 4 Part 25
This series was the best so far that CSI has offered. The last episode was brilliant, and ended on a cliff hanger. The episodes were very good, and allowed for non stop viewing. As I watched it the episodes got better and better, episodes like the fire at Stellas's building were very good and i enjoyed it emensly. I particually liked the episode with the cab driver who gassed his victims then genreally killed them. It changed when on the penultimate episode, Mac's son gets kidnapped and he helps the csi's to find him. This was altogether a fantastic and enjoyable series.

does exactly what it says on the tin! There are extras on each disc, as there are only 9 full length episodes - due to the series being shortened because of the writers strike. The extras are entertaining, but I wouldn't say they were a must-watch. They are also very short. All in all its a good boxset, particulary if you are a big fan of csi new york.
