Synopsis
The second of two spin-offs launched by the hugely popular television series C.S.I. - CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, C.S.I. - NEW YORK distinguishes itself with an even darker, grittier tone than either of its predecessors by grounding the action in the gloomy aftermath of post-9/11 New York. The always brilliant Gary Sinise anchors the series as sternly professional former-Marine police detective Mac Taylor, whose stoic exterior masks the pain of losing his wife in the World Trade Center attacks. Taylor's forensics team includes his tough-as-nails partner, Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes); the sexy but street-smart investigator Aiden Burn (Vanessa Ferlito); no-nonsense tough guy Don Flack (Eddie Cahill); smart-aleck detective Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo); and the briskly efficient coroner, Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper). Bathed in sombre, blue-tinged cinematography, the spin-off emphasizes well-drawn character development without sacrificing any of the grisly criminal and scientific elements that made its parent show such a smashing success. Presented here is a selection of episodes from the show's fifth series.

Fab! Except the Season 3 Part 2 Cover Art5
CSI: New York is not only the best of the CSI Francise, but is the best show on TV. with this fab half of the fifth season, you will see Detective Stella Bonasera and Detective Mac Taylor travel to Greece. Lindsay and Danny getting married, and having a baby making Mac and Stella god parents as well as the horrific season finale "Pay Up Part 1" which Sees Detective Angell shot Dead and The Rest of the team being shot at before the screen fades to black...

The Only Problem is the cover art. It is scarily similar to CSI: NY Season 3 Part 2. Honestly I Had nightmares about the similarities. Over all a fantastic edition to your CSI Collection.

CSI: NY's best season yet!5
Just when I thought this show couldn't get any better, CSI: NY has an unbelievable and absolutely incredible second half to their fifth season and this is without a doubt the best season yet!

Mac Taylor, Stella Bonasera and the rest of the New York CSI team return for the last 13 episodes of season 5 where they investigate many bizarre and exciting cases, such as when the body of the deputy mayor falls from the ceiling at a charity fundraiser; a high school wrestling coach's severed body parts are found buried throughout the city; Adam is involved in a car bombing; the body of the former ME is found in a motel; someone is shot on a moving train; a man falls from a 20th story but no body is found; a murder at an auction leads to a Nazi criminal who committed crimes 60 years ago; as well as some excellent story arcs from previous episodes, including the birth of Lindsay and Danny's first child and also the shocking finale with one of the best cliff-hanger endings ever in any of the CSI shows.

Like I've said this is a fantastic season and really has boosted the show's profile - which I feel is very over-shadowed by the success of the Las Vegas and Miami shows - and I've been watching the sixth season and can guarantee the show's quality does not stop here. A brilliant show that appears to just get better and better - at a great low price too!
