Avoid1
The machine barely operates, it has all sorts of problems powering and then reading discs, and the 'support' cd is in chinese - how helpful! A piece of tat, avoid. My advice is read the reviews and pay a bit more for something that does the job.

this item was sent and arrived before the date due
it is a great purchase it was used on a net book to load programs as the computer has no built in optical disk.
du to a virus i had to reinstall my operating system and the unit let me boot from cd rom.
saved me a great deal of time and money.
have recomended this to my friends.

If you simply want a drive to load programmes on to the netbook it is fine and I successfully did this but it does not play movie DVDs. The accompanying CD appeared to have Nero and PowerDVD software but I could not extract either and the instructions were in Chinese.
