Great Motherboard for a budget price5
Purchased this Motherboard because I was specifically looking for 2 x PCIe slots rather than an onboard Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), although it is not spec'd for PCIe (x16) 2.0 it's still good enough for the gamer or professional on a tight budget. Has onboard Nvidia chipset; I have two 512mb PCIe NVidea cards running 4 monitors, and everything is going great!. Also useful for the gamer wanting to utilise SLI technology!

Highly recommend this product if you are fed up with trying to run onboard GPU with external GPU. Some onboard GPU's with DVI port will not accept adapters, so you are unable to run two monitors off the board unless you happen to be using a 'purely' digital monitor for your computer! (beware of this)

Also beware that on this board, you can upgrade to triple and quad core processors (am2+) but the fsb speed will be reduced (see manufacturer specs)

Managed to fit 9600GT XLR8 OCD 512mb ddr3 gpu (extra long) without any issues. If you do utilise both PCIe slots, you loose 2 of the 3 PCI slots.

Also, boasts legacy Parallel ATA port for your older IDE drives and DVD burners; plenty of SATA connections and great onboard soundcard with High Definaition specs.

Plenty of USB connections also

Supplied accessories: 1PATA Ribbon, 1 Floppy Ribbon, 4 Orange SATA Cables, 1 SLi bridge, manual & CD Driver

The layout does not impede airflow and is well spaced although I agree that SLi would render 2 PCI slots unusable.
A large heatsink could interfere with the RAM if all 4 slots are used.
There is also a passive copper anodised aluminim hearsink next to the RAM slots.
There are 3 onboard USB headers, 1 of which I have connected to the Case USB and the other for my Media Card Reader. There is also 2 connections 1394 port which I have not used. The CPU fan has a PWM (4 socket)pin and there are 2 more 3 pin sockets labelled sys fan and pwr fan. There is 1 audio head unit and 1 SPDIF.

The BIOS menu has Motherboard Intillegent Tweaker to allow you to overclock the processor, RAM voltages and graphics card as well as other features from windows, in my case Vista basic 32.

The supplied CD allows you to flash the BIOS and check your overclocked settings.

I use this product as a general purpose unit in that I have a nVidia 8500GT cards, 3 SATA HDD, 1SATA Blue Ray and a PATA DVD RW with a X2 3.1Ghz and 2GB RAM.

As it is I have no problem with it to date and use it for web browsing, microsoft office 07, 03,and open office publications as well as watching DVD's. The loaing is rapid for Vista but is blisteringly quick with XP (I have a dual boot set-up). With XP booted it is a true gaming machine.

I feel this product is future proofed and meets the needs of the average power user. My only regret is I dont have an acrylic window to show it off.
