The education of an environmentalist
The author, who tries to be "green", starts out with a prejudice against nuclear power. A series of conversations with scientists and engineers together with visits to uranium mines, power stations and a radioactive waste dump gradually convince her that nuclear power is the cleanest way to generate electricity. The result is an excellent exposition of the case for nuclear power which ought to convince most sceptics. I would have liked more technical detail, but perhaps that would have narrowed the book's appeal.
