DVD Description
With Spaniard Fernando Alonso crowned as his nation's first Formula 1 title holder in Brazil, the fight was now on to win the constructors' championship. It was going to be tough for his team Renault to regain the lead after McLaren moved in front by two points with its 1-2 finish at Interlagos. McLaren's MP4-20 was clearly the class of the field, but was Alonso’s R25 strong enough to take on Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya? Let the battle commence! This official review features the best coverage from every round, including practice & qualifying sessions, plus mind-blowing on-board laps.

Synopsis
Features all the action from this year's championship. Find out how Alonso gained his first championship title and which team wins the constructor's championship.

Great season, great review4
I thoroughly enjoyed recalling the great F1 season we have just watched with the help of this DVD. It includes the main parts of each race that are essential to piece together the way each race went, and the latest news is well integrated into the season. I also liked the way it dealt with the farce that was Indianapolis 2005 responsibly, just describing the events rather than using it as an opportunity to air the views that the producers had on the event. At over 3 hours long, this is a lengthy but enjoyable way to reflect on the start of a new era.

Why not 5 stars? It says on each race menu 'On Pole', which should show the pole lap. However, only several times does the pole driver describe his lap. More often than not, a different driver (eg. Scott Speed at Indy and Vitantonio Liuzzi at Monza) describes their lap. That's not what I wanted! Some of the pole position laps this season were simply stunning, but instead we listen to an average driver harping on about their own lap, which is from practice and nothing special! A small glitch in what is a good DVD. Ben Edwards is a great narrator. If only he commentated on F1 for ITV!

Great DVD if slightly biased!4
Thank god, finally a DVD without any "let's meet the City of..." introductions! 2005, a great year in F1, has all its 3 hours jam packed with F1 material and not publicising Countries!

Ben Edwards' commentary is informative and the on track action is generally very well done - although many of the midfeild battles are left completely overlooked. More time is spent watching the same top 6 drivers come in and out of the pits. Its a very common error in these DVD's so I suppose it's just something we'll have to get used to!

Also ignored is qualifying which had great impact on the season.

However the content here is good and if you have to limit the DVD's to 3 hours, what we get is good enough for me.
