NOT HIGH RES - Beware of the resolution
My rating is mainly to bring attention to the resolution of the frame. It states in the description 'High Resolution' and in the technical specs 800x400, but when received, the frame is only capable of 400x234. Another reviewer mentioned this as well, and had I read their comment, I would not have purchased it because my main criteria is to have a good quality picture displayed as close to a real photo.
The pictures look ok from a distance, but are noticeably grainy when viewed from less than 3 feet. Apart from that, I can only comment on the build quality which seemed sturdy enough and the user interface was manageable after a few trial and error button clicks.
This picture frame is aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately not technically up to snuff in my opinion.
Warning some technical details are wrong!
I ordered this product specifically because the technical details on the web site say it accepts XD cards. On receipt XD cards were not listed as compatable with this frame. Also the resolution on the web site is given as 800 x 480 pixels where as they are given as 480 x 234 on the specifications on the product box. I have left the rating at four stars as it looks a good product but please be aware of the errors in the description particularly if you want to use it with XD cards.
Resolution error
The technical spec for this item states the resolution as 800x480 pixels. However, on receiving the product, it is actually only 480x234 which is a big difference. It means that pictures look digital, curves become edgy and faces become pixelated. If you are going to buy a digital photo frame, more pixels are better!
