Customer Reviews

For all who have done the moves but do not know the names5
I studied ballet with the Vaganova school. You might have studied under RAD or something else. But the moves do not differ all that much. In this beautiful work Gail Grant has accumulated all the different terminologies. But that is not where she stopped. She describes the steps, gives the term in all the different systems and outlines the subtle differencies from one school to another. I am confident that this book is my best friend when I am uncertain what a step is meant to be executed like.

Great book5
My daughter studies ballet at the Royal ballet school and is always on about different moves and I couldn't understand what she was on about. I got this guide to read through after a while and it helped me and my daughter for that matter to understand the move names and what they mean. This is a good book if you need help with the move names or just want to research and it;s a very good price as well.

informative4
This book is a detailed dictionary of ballet words and talks you through how to do them. Its a shame they are not also illustrated as this would be the perfect book for me, but would be very thick. As it is, the book is of good size and does give alternative names as some styles differ. If you are a master at ballet and just need a quick reminder of words then this is the book for you. if like me you are learning then i will stick with my RAD step-by-step guide to ballet as this covers all aspects i need.
