Don't be mislead by the cover picture
The picture would lead you to expect modern cabaret music, but what this is is fine, traditional baladi style music, including the well-known Afra Baladi. The cover is inappropriate. Don't buy it if you want music for your bellygram or restaurant entertainment, but if you like music with a strong traditional Egyptian feel to it, you'll enjoy it.

Several good ashra baladi pieces
This is one of my favourite baladi c.ds. The saxophone conveys many different moods and you easily become completely involved in the music. Quite long for performance pieces, but will hold the audience's attention as lively and varied. There are several subtley different ashra baladi pieces and some other instrumental pieces. Essential for the raqs sharqi dancer.
