A good place to start
If you want a taster of mainstream arabic pop music, this album is for you. Samira Sayed and Cheb Mami's Youm Wara Youm (Day After Day) is an arabic classic, Amr Diab has been recording since the mid 80s and to say he is the "Robbie Williams" of the Arab world would be an understatement. Nancy Ajram, just 21 is currently taking the music scene by storm,and her latest tracks Yay and Ay Wu Nos are also worth seeking out. 2 Other great recording artists on here are Ragheb Alama and Ehab Towfiq - they both produce great albums and singles. Fadl Shaker, Elissa, Shereen and Dania are up and coming recording artists who rarely disappoint. Enjoy!

Fusion of sounds
Not sure what happened to volume 2, this album continues its excellence from volume 1 of comtemporary middle eastern hit parade. Of the 16 tracks, a third are are sure to be classic contemprary Arabaic dance tunes, as evident by the rapturous reception in nightclubs. However, the remaining tunes are superb, down tempo style with a classic style of the middle orient of pipes, subtle drumming and searing vocals. Najwa Karam's track must be the highlight, an instant danceble tune that transplants you away to some smoke filled souk.
