Customer Reviews

cracking fun5
I have to be honest and say that I never watched more than a couple of episodes of this show when I was younger. It was only recently that my girlfriend bought me the first series on DVD and soon after that I got the second, which is even better than then first. To state the obvious this cartoon is fantastiucally made. Everything from the animation, the voices, and the sound track are made brilliantly and gotham city as I'd always imagined it to be appears on screen. But what really sets this apart for me is the stories. The episode where four of the bataman villians sit around chatting about the cloest they came to getting batman is funny and clever and the episode in which we follow a low level hunchmen who believes he's killed batman displays a maturity that is a joy to see in a childrens cartoon.
I would thoroughly recoomend this boxset for any batman fan. It's dark, clever,a whole lot of fun and like all good cartoons makes me feel like I'm 12 years old again.

andmark for DC and the animated world, Batman is legend5
this animated series is definately one in a million, i had seen it and became a loyal fan of this show once i was growing up as a kid through the 90's, but i had never been so enthralled with a show, it therefore made me a fan of the comic books and the actual character of Batman himself.
i have purchased vol.1 and this together and i must say as an adult i can see a much more mature view over the storylines of each episode, the darkness the show entailed and the sheer perfection of the quality animation.
WBros had definately hit it's stride as a company when they released this show to which millions of viewers made it the success it is today and a cult phenomenon.
The Joker is on top form here with his diabolical and quite brutal plotlines excellently portrayed by the legend which is Mark Hamill which gives the diabolical a new lease of life (only ever matched by the immortal performance by Heath Ledger in the stunning The Dark Knight).
Harley Quinn is introduced as The Joker's partner in crime and is independant in her own right and one of the greatest/most hilarious villains ever created for an animated show...or any show.
Catwoman,The Pencuin and The Riddler(in his debut) are all here plus some fresh villains from the comics too.
to top it all...an epic storyline detailing the origins of Robing, and Ra's Al Ghaul with his most sadistic plan yet.
it is all her on 4 jam packed discs of episdoes and extras to enjoy.
purchase both volumes today...i just hope that vol.3 and will be released in the uk soon.

A Brilliant Animated take on the Batman5
A Brilliant Animated take on the Batman. And in my opinion the best. I have volumes one and two but I am most chagrined that volumes 3 and 4 are not available in Region 2 DVD!!
