For me, this is still the best of the Batman films. Keaton's Wayne is understated and subtle, and Jack Nicholson is STILL the definitive Joker. The plot moves at a steady pace throughout.

Chris Nolan's first reboot of the series is an epic representation of the power of fear itself. Bale is brilliant as a very shadowy crusader fighting to save a decaying city.

The latest film is brilliant at first viewing, with an amazing contribution from Heath Ledger who steals every scene. But Batman's character is less of a focus, which is a shame.

Joel Schumacher camped up the series, and brought Robin in (not so good). But the performances are entertaining and there is lots of fast-paced action.

I found this second Burton film dissapointing. The abundance of villains means there is too much time dedicated to them, rather than Michael Keaton's Wayne. Still a decent film, however.

Yes, you knew this would be at the bottom. It's camp, it's aimed at kids, its poorly acted, the plot is diabolical, and George Clooney is Batman. Nuff Sed? Yes.
