Synopsis
The on-the-road life of an indie-rock band about to take a giant leap towards the mainstream forms the focus for this documentary from director Justin Mitchell ('Songs For Cassavetes'). Capturing the band members as they are on the cusp of signing a major label deal, Mitchell set out on tour with Death Cab in 2004 as they undertook an American tour to support their album 'Transatlanticism'. The performances perfectly capture the energy and spirit of the band, while offstage the band members appear thoughtful and philosophical as they muse on their career. A wonderful snapshot of a band at a crucial stage in its career, this is essential viewing for fans.

Change
I was apprehensive buying this knowing that there were songs on it that i didn't like so much. I thought that those i really enjoyed would make it worthwhile, and i'm always up for learning more about bands that i'm into.
It started off great. The filming style was lush and won me over straight away. Interviews with the band members were honest and human.
When i came to the first song i wasn't so sure of, i was pleasantly surprised to find that with every second of watching each note being realised live by Death Cab became more and more of a fan.
Drive Well, Sleep Carefully is a whole product and as a result i've discovered new love for a band i already liked.
