Customer Reviews
Great fun!
I've never had a dancemat before and wanted one as an alternative form of exercise - this package appealed because you can play your own CDs through it.
Overall I'm really impressed - it's great fun and definitely good exercise! It takes about 30 seconds to upload a track from a CD and you can either choose individual tracks or do the whole CD at once. You can then save them on memory card.
The biggest downside is keeping the mat still - it comes with four sticky feet to stick it to the floor, but they really are useless and I find after every track I'm having to reposition the mat - it means sometimes I think I'm in the right position for a particular step but end up on completely the wrong button. I get a lot of messages saying 'check your feet'!
Dance factory review
I bought this having already played other dance mat games before. I thought it was a great idea to be able to download my own cds to make up dances. This seems to work really well. My critisism is that I was disappointed that some of the functions of other dance mat games were not available on this game. For example it doesn't have any characters in the background, it doesn't boo or cheer you depending on how well you're doing nor does it keep count of how many steps you've got right in a row without making any mistakes. Also the overall set up is not as easy to use as the other dance mat games that I have for the PS2 made by Konami.
One good thing that this game has that others don't is that it is eye toy enabled. However, I could not get this to work!
Overall, if you've never played a dance mat game before you will probably really like this but if you have played them before you'll probably be disappointed that it is missing a lot of the features that other games have.
well impressed
I bought this for exactly the same reason as the last reviewer as a exersise thing and it works brilliantly as on the fitness mode it will tell you exactly calories you have burned off I've found music like abba works really well :)only niggle is the fact that it slides around between tracks it has sticky pads but they dont stick to carpetbut it really is a niggle.
