Manufacturer's Description
If you are an avid Lost fan then you may well be interested in playing the Lost board game. The game has been based upon events in the show and attention to detail is the order of the day. Apparently, the producer of Lost was involved in the key concepts for the game. Each player can choose to be a character from Lost and each of the characters has a special ability and / or weaknesses. Choose from the 17 characters of Lost: Ana-Lucia, Boone, Charlie, Claire, Eko, Hurley, Jack, Jin, Kate, Libby, Locke, Michael, Sawyer, Sayid, Shannon, Sun, and Walt. The board is actually made up of 75 hexagonal pieces representing different areas of the island, of which 16 are used for a basic game. This means that each game is different so you wont be fed up with it after a couple weeks! A 4 x 4 grid will take 2 players about an hour to complete. The idea of the game is for each player to become the leader of the Oceanic flight 815 survivors. This is achieved by eliminating other players characters by taking leadership of them. The game progresses with dice and a series of cards; event cards, encounter cards and equipment cards which contain direction and challenges for all the players. Lost is a game of strategy and has a lot of playability.can you survive it?!

Customer Reviews

Very enjoyable4
I bought this game because I enjoy board games in general, and because I very much liked the first season of Lost.

First off, be warned that this game contains storylines from the series itself, including season 2. So if you would prefer not to know anything about the second season before you watch it, then refrain from purchasing this for now.

The game itself is very enjoyable, once you get to know the rules. The instructions supplied in the box come in both 'Beginner' and 'Advanced', which is helpful. However, I found them to be rather ambiguous in parts, leaving me scratching my head on more than one occasion. Thankfully, the game has an official website, which contains very useful information on how to play the game, including an example game spelt out for the reader.

The main aim of the game is to use your character to 'lead' other neutral characters on the board. Most characters have a unique scenario for winning the game to go with the main one, e.g. if you are playing as Locke, and the 'Monster' is defeated during the game (by anybody), you win!

The variability of the game is a plus-point. There are approximately 100 hexagonal board pieces, which make up the island. They come in two types - shoreline and inner island, and can be arranged to create an island as big or small as you wish, in any shape you desire.

Each character has a starting point (where you have ended up following the crash), and must explore the island as you go along, leading characters and overcoming encounters along the way. The characters are from the tv series, so the likes of Jack, Locke and "Dude" Hurley are all there, as well as a couple of new additions from season 2.

There is a surprising amount of strategy involved, as the use of 'Fate Cards' can affect other players and characters as well as your own. The game is very enjoyable even with only 2 players, as you can tailor the board and rules to your liking, although it is far more fun with more players.

To summarise, if you enjoy Lost on tv and strategy board games in general, and you don't mind a set of rules that need time to grow on you, then this is a good buy.

Hope you enjoy it!

It's ok3
I got this game a few days ago and have only played it once so far. However, it was very difficult to grasp exactly what you were supposed to do. The instructions are very vague so if you don't have a lot of patience, playing it may not be the most enjoyable experience for you. There is a lot of variety to be had with the game though which, once you work out the rules, would be a strong point. The thing that annoyed me most was some of the pieces inside that were made from like card, were already fraying and splitting before I even opened it! All in all, it seems like an OK game so far.

Lost - we were!1
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. We were expecting a well thought out interesting game. It turned about to be none of the above. The rules aren't just vague, they're terrible. Its incredibly confusing and personally, I don't expect to have to 'go visit the website' just to find out how to play the game i've spent £20 on. There are problems everywhere, some explanation just totally missed out from the rules, not enough holders for the character pieces, just generally no thought. In all a huge shame and frankly, a waste of £20.
