The Island Is Calling...4
FIRST THOUGHTS:
When I saw this game was due for release, I couldn't be more excited. Part of me was hesitant at not wanting this flawless series ruined by a substandard piece of merchandise, but I decided to give it a go due to the screen-shots and previews I had seen.

INTRODUCTION:
You play the part of a male survivor of the Oceanic 815 crash, but unfortunately you are cursed with amnesia. I will not say any more than that. Your aim in the game is to search for clues to your true identity and try to get the other survivors to trust you.

COOL TIE-INS:
For the true fans (and I will keep this as spoiler-less as possible) you get enough things thrown in to remind you that you're in the world of LOST. You wake up on your back, follow the dog to the crash site, race around trying to help people, run like hell from the black smoke, enter the numbers tirelessly into that crap computer, see weird maps on the wall when the LOCKDOWN happens, get the crap beat out of you by Sayid before he locks you in the armoury, use dynamite to blow stuff up, gunfights with the Others, visit the Black Rock, visit the other Dharma bases (such as the Flame and Hydra), have Locke tell you how great and wonderful the island is, have Ben try and mess with your head... there is enough to keep the avid Lost fan happy.

GAME QUALITY:
The story is very good, told in true Lost style. Each of the seven "episodes" you take part in are loaded with suspense and intregue. Each begins with a "Previously On Lost" trailer, and an interactive "teaser" before the official Lost intro. To mirror this, each "episode" ends on a cliffhanger. To the none-Lost fan, the gameplay would not make much sense, as there are things referred to that you are already expected to know. Other than that, the graphics are fantastic, the audio is well produced and the actors are nearly all genuine (yes, ignore the review that says they're all fake impersonators, just read the cast list for proof.)

GOOD POINTS:
All of the above, plus more. Bloody brilliant production. Plus, there are numerous clues that avid Lost investigators will pick up on (references to Widmore, Hanso, etc) and followers of the online game "The Lost Experience" will pick up on (Thomas Mittlewerk, etc). Also, it may be worth mentioning that the very final cutscene at the finale of the game (which just blew me away half an hour ago) is a very big clue to what is actually happening on our favourite island.

BAD POINTS:
Some tedious puzzles (the fuse ones), and the fact that this game is just too short. Don't get me wrong, it is blatantly obvious that a hell of a lot of time and effort has gone into producing this game, but (as with the actual series) it just left me wanting more.

CONCLUSION:
Very simple advice here: If you love Lost, buy the game. If you've never watched it, don't bother. My only other wish is that I'd waited 2 weeks... because they just knocked the price down by a tenner!!!

Namaste.

The true experience5
An evaluation of Lost: the video game is somewhat complex.

On one side we have a relatively short game riddled with tedious and repetitive puzzles and somewhat frustrating game play in sections. On the positive side, you are experiencing Lost first hand.

The latter wins in my opinion.

The game starts, a survivor of the Oceanic Flight 815, suffering from memory loss in the middle of the jungle. The game follows a somewhat fragmented story line from series one to three, with your character following his own 'destiny' towards remembering who you really are.

Game play is somewhat limited, and consists of walking the island while talking to the very realistic characters from the Lost series. In turn you must follow the Lost adventure through some challenging action sequences and make use in logic to solve puzzles in order to survive.

The atmosphere created within the game is stunning. The graphics and backgrounds of this game are the true highlight of the game, and you really do feel like a character from the series.

This game is somewhat challenging and frustrating in sections and is not as straight forward as novice gamers might have expected, however the game is very nicely produced and more importantly, incorporates many aspects of the series, which to any Lost fan is the main reason for buying the game. The game has some nice touches, however as a true Lost fan, I too was hoping for more insight into the concluding series of Lost, a point mentioned within other reviews.

This gripping game must be brought by any true Lost fan, however if you are not one for a short, straight forward game play with limited action, then I suggest look elsewhere.

I would also like to suggest that this game has been produced on three platforms. If you are looking to buy, I would suggest making use of the computer based version, on a basis that you shall benefit from visual quality, and reprogrammable controls.

Caveat Emptor !! [That's 'Buyer Beware!]1
I have to say how surprised I am that none of the above reveiwers have experienced any problems with some of the most frequently voiced issues on Ubisofts own Lost Forum. Because I certainly have.
By this I am referring to the game causing my PC to crash to a blue screen, the EXCEEDINGLY slow movement of the main character, the out of sync dialogue; and all of this despite the fact that my computer easily meets the system requirements.
it might work fine on your pc dear reader....but I wouldn't take the chance if I were you!
