Customer Reviews

Shame on you!5
Please beware of some earlier opinions, this stand up set is fantastic, I thought 'Monster' was brilliant, although at some times he had appeared nervous it was startlingly clever and very original.

'Like, Totally..' does not fail to raise the bar. The set feels far more complete and free flowing. Some have written he seems 'BORED'?, obviously confusing the words 'bored' with 'relaxed', he seems far more confident in his twisted perspective and how he deliveres it. Yes, he has taken one or two jokes from his 'Monster' set but comics such as Lee Evans have been rehashing the same jokes for the last ten years, the fact that Dylan Moran has expelled so much fresh material is astonishing.

To add...
People expecting Black books 'live' will be disappointed, but only because it's NOT Black books! Heaven forbid he ever try to portray it in a live format (R.I.P `Mitchell and webb' & `The league of gentlemen') Very rarely does a TV show transfer to a live format successfully (the only one springing to mind being The mighty boosh's offering, but then I had seen the show before the DVD which is probably where the added appreciation lies).

Anyway, enough rambling...

Buy it!

Brilliant4
I saw this show live at the Apollo (and my friend rather upsettingly made it onto the DVD, whereas I didn't) and I thought it was great. I thought Monster was better, but not dramatically so, and certainly not enough to merit the scathing reviews here.

I don't think he seems tired or bored with the material (and there is no noticible repitition in the material from Monster). I think he's just settled in the role he plays on stage.

Given a choice of one or the other, Monster trumps this DVD, but only just :)

Another brilliant stand up dvd by dylan5
he's done it again! ever the genius, dylan has managed to produce more golden material. i love this just as much as i do the earlier Monster dvd, dylan is just brilliant.
