This is the second single from boy / girl duo from Toronto, Canada, Crystal Castles who were named after the fortress in the cartoon She-Ra, Princess of Power. It's the debut release on hip new London label Trouble Records. 'Crimewave' is a meeting of Crystal Castles with la noise terrorists Health. Crystal Castles have turned the track into a deep, warm and robotic electro stunner based around a deadpan vocal and a bleep snyth melody. This is the track Fischerspooner always wanted to write. Flip 'Xxzxczx me' is a two minute drill and distort electronic banger with arcade game noises taking control of the melody. It's like a small child trying to recreate a world where noise and attitude are applauded. First single on Merok sold out in the first week of release. This is massive.
