Synopsis
James Patterson takes us on a twisting roller-coaster ride of thrills in his most gripping novel yet. Lauren Stillwell is not your average damsel in distress. When the NYPD cop discovers her husband leaving a hotel with another woman, she decides to beat him at his own game. But her revenge goes dangerously awry, and she finds her world spiralling into a hell that becomes more terrifying by the hour. In a further twist of fate, Lauren must take on a job that threatens everything she stands for. Now, she's paralyzed by a deadly secret that could tear her life apart. With her job and marriage on the line, Lauren's desire for retribution becomes a lethal inferno as she fights to save her livelihood - and her life. This story of love, lust and dangerous secrets will have reader's hearts pounding to the very last page.

Be Prepared Not To Get Up Much From Your Seat Once You Start This Book!4
The Quickie is one of the best books under James Patterson's name in quite some time. As a matter of fact, it was so good that I wonder how much of it Patterson actually wrote himself, versus Michael Ledwidge (the co-author). Ledwidge writes very much in Patterson's style, but his "own" books (The Narrowback and Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) are better than most of Patterson's more recent books. The Quickie's plot grabs your attention right out of the starting gate and continues to do so right up to the last page. In addition, the characters are pretty well developed and interesting. But perhaps the book's best quality is the fast and furious way in which introduces new twists and turns. And although a few of these plot twists are somewhat implausible and a bit too coincidental, this did not matter much to me since they were overshadowed by the book's ability to keep me totally engrossed and to enable the pages to fly by my eyes. Enjoy!

A great read4
I love James Patterson & own all his books, this one did not disappoint. I did get a little confused at one point and had to re-read a couple of pages but i think it was because I was so unsure of whether the husband was good, bad, stupid.. Though that must be a sign of good writing I think!

so awfull I gave up 1
This book was a massive disappointment. It looks like a 12 year old has been instructed to go away write a crime novel and come back in 2 days with it complete, for homework.Short words, short chapters, no development of plot or characters, feeble literary bubble gum for the brain dead. Gave up in disgust at page 73.Made even worse by the fact this was a two author collaboration.
