Good Practical Introduction To Drupal 6 Module Development
After reading Pro Drupal Development from Apress reading this book was a delight as it introduced me to a lot of new things i can do with drupal. I am not a php programmer (though i love the language)but learning drupal with this book has certainly increased my confidence.
The only fault i would ascribe to the book are certain grammatical and technical terminology errors.
Superb
I found this book to be a superb introduction to Drupal module development. Drupal IS modules and an organized programmer's dream product. It is excellently modularized and to get the most out of it you need to appreciate good programming techniques.
To Mr "2 out of five"; it's not the book it's you!
misleading advertising
The synopsis of this book says:
"Just getting started with Drupal development? This book will give you a clear, concise and, of course, practical guidance to take you from the basics of creating your first module to developing the skills to make you a Drupal developer to be reckoned with."
Well, I bought it (literally) only to find that the book's introduction, and subsequent chapters, make it quite clear that this is NOT for Drupal beginners. (And no, I'm not a rookie programmer: I use PHP, HTML, etc.) I can't say more about the book, as I returned it to Amazon. Poor advertising practices should not be encouraged.
