"You should have bargained Jabba!"
It seems that Lego are really pushing the boat out with big kits this year and Jabba's Sail Barge is one of the best. The model is over 45cm long when assembled and is packed with features.
The ship has adjustable sails on the deck, a positionable laser cannon (I recommend aiming at the deck before jumping off) and a 'catapult' from which you can launch figures.
Both sides of the Sail Barge lower to allow access to the inside. The interior is divided into three chambers. At the front is Jabba's area, next is the kitchen / weapons area and at the back is a prison cell with wall bars that can be opened.
There is also a great skiff (a big improvement on the original kit) which comes with it and of course the diorama is completed with the mightly Sarlaac.
The kit contains eight figures including Luke Skywalker 'Jedi Knight', Han Solo, Princess Leia 'Slave', Lando Calrissian 'Skiff Guard', R2-D2 with drinks tray, Jabba The Hutt, a Gamorrean Guard and Boba Fett. There are also three creatures for the kitchen.
All in all the Sail Barge is one of the best kits Lego have made and is a welcome addition to the Lego Star Wars universe.

best lego set ever please buy it
this set is fun to build and to play. it includes rare figures such as jabba the hut and boba fett. it also includes a desert skiff! the sail barge measures 46cm and has about 8oo pieces to it. it is im,pressive on the outside and inside.

not suitable for children
I spent the whole day building this for my 7 year old son only to find as soon as he tried to play with it, it falls apart just like all the other expensive star wars lego kits.

This kit is not designed for children as it says on the box (8-12). This kit caused nothing but tears for my son and frustration for me having to rebuild it every few minutes. I got so annoyed with the thing that I ended up gluing it all together with superglue which defeats the object of having lego at all.

These lego kits are only designed for grown-up collectors to build and then leave with all their other kits for ornamentation (that's if they even bother to open the box at all).

I would give this 5 stars for educational value as it takes a lot of concentration to put together and is enjoyable to build. I should imagine it would be very challenging for an 8 year old (my 7 year old found it far too complicated).

Unless you are a collector avoid at all costs as THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN.
