A real must have.
I'd like to recommend this book to anyone interested in writing for children. I am currently studying a creative writing course from home and have now moved to fiction. I really want to have a bash at children's stories and I feel I have two ideal test subjects (my children aged 3 and 6) to bombard with my daft creations! I am finding this book to be of excellent guidance, everything is explained clearly. Writing for a young audience is not as easy as people presume but with the techniques suggested in this book it is half the battle won. I now find that by reading a story into a tape recorder then listening to a playback, I can pick out weekness and change parts in order to try and make it sound better. Hopefully I will be able to really make my stories real and enjoyable for children.This book will no doubt be a much used reference in my studies.
