Customer Reviews
Just what we needed!
Don't have any others with which to compare this, but we had been bamboozled by all the reviews of various photo frames, some good and not so good! We wanted to buy one for my father-in-law's 80th birthday, he's reasonably computer literate and loves gadgets, but has little patience for things that aren't instantly easy to use. We decided to have this delivered to our own house first, so we could have a go at setting it up before giving it to him. We bought a new memory card for him too and loaded a whole pile of pics of the whole family together over the past year. Set-up was so easy, we barely needed the manual and the quality of the photos was fine. It's now back in its box awaiting the birthday next month, so we can't comment on durability or reliability over time, but we're really pleased with what we've bought and would recommend it to anyone who wants to spend under £100 on a frame.
Brilliant Gift
Bought two of these as gifts (one for my mother, one for some friends) after I saw demos of other frames in the shops. All the frames I saw in the shops had big flaws (either a very low res, or awkward controls, or software problems - they just froze after a few minutes). The Philips was the only frame that I couldn't see working in the shops and it is such a pitty, it's much better than all the other frames.
How it works:
1. You just put some photos on a memory card, and stick it into the back of the frame. The quality of the image is great (as long as all your pictures have the same orientation).
2. You connect the frame to your computer and store up to 65 photos in the internal memory.
How it doesn't work:
1. You can't have your pictures stored in folders on the memory card.
2. Only works with JPEGs.
I am planning to periodically send memory cards with photos by mail to my mother and swapping the cards is so easy.
As it does the job I expected (displays good quality photos on screen, with little or no intervention), I recommend it without hesitation.
