Customer Reviews

Ring RAC700 Tyre inflator.5
This really is a fantastic piece of kit, seems to be very well made, not to be confused with your usual mass produced rubbish.
Has a really good heavy feel to it, only the switch housing is plastic, the rest is polished metal and aluminium, operation is simple, plug in to cigarette lighter, attach the very substantial air line to tyre then switch on and watch the neat inbuilt pressure gauge.
This is a very fast compressor....0 to 36 psi in under three minutes, no fuss, just a good solid unit performing well within its very wide parameters.
Also supplied with the compressor comes an excellent Ring bag which keeps the compressor safe when not in use.
I thoroughly recommend this unit as I have never seen any 12 volt car compressor even come close to the build quality and performance of this Ring.

12V AIR COMPRESSER5
ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS COMPRESSER IS ITS THE BEST ONE IV EVER HAD I HAVE A 4X4 AND IT WILL BLOW MY TYERS UP FROM FLAT IN 4 MINS

Poorly made, Ive had two and Ive looked inside it1
The first one blew fuses in the car almost from day one it was replaced free of charge. The second one lasted 7 months and clapped out a month out of warranty. Sop I took a look inside this "quality piece of kit" to see what had failed. The pump section of this thing gets so hot in use you cant touch it without getting burnt. The pump piston that give you the air pressure is a tiny pin about 3mm in diameter that fits into a cam, the cam is held onto the motor shaft by a torx screw, mine was lose. The pump goes 20 to the dozen in use, the cam arrangement should have roller bearings to give this thing any sort of long life. I traced it big brother the RAC900 at £70 or £80 quid to a site in China banging them out for $15 US, this 700 effort must be sourced for less than that.

So Malcolm my boy all that shines isn't gold and this this thing is a load of very occasional use rubbish. I've looked at foot pumps to replace this, the Michelin job has an awful series of reviews yet appears top of the tree. To be quite frank I think global warming and the questions of diminishing resources must be a load of tripe, first stop in a real crisis would be to stop all this trash coming in to the UK from the cheap areas of the world, then come an tell me the climate change requires my tax money to solve.
