    Very useful supplementary tool4
This hoe is helpful for preparing ground and tidying up borders for planting. It's not massively powerful so can't be used to turn over very heavy soil or overgrown areas but as a supplementary tool when arms are getting tired it is very useful. It is quite heavy itself so has to be used in bursts rather like a hedge trimmer.

Not a hoe as I know it, but still useful4
My idea of a hoe is a tool with a blade that you push backwards and forwards just under the surface of the soil to cut off weed seedlings below ground level. Perhaps Black and Decker would like to design a powered tool that does this, as I would probably buy it. Nevertheless,
I found the power hoe quite useful. I have quite a few raised beds in my vegetable garden containing nice, loamy soil, and the hoe is invaluable for preparing each bed before I plant anything in it as you can get quite a good tilth easily. I don't think it would be nearly as succesful in the rest of the garden where there is really heavy clay as the prongs would soon clog up. I haven't found it too heavy, and I never use it to prepare more than three or four beds so don't know how long the charge would last. However, I do have the Black and Decker cordless strimmer as well so the batteries are interchangeable.
