Good CPU cooler
I recently upgraded my CPU and went with a Quad Core 2.6. I was slightly worried by the cooling provided by the standard heat sync provded by Intel so I got one of these. It sits on top of your CPU and the air current is at right angles to your motherboard, and in order to ensure adequate space around the fan you have to make sure that there is pleanty of room inside your case.
As to it's cooling powers, they are good. My CPU chugs along at just over 30 C and the individual cores can be checked at a max of about 48 C - this is under heavy load. The contact is covered in more than enough thermal paste so you shouldn't need any more, and as with all large heat syncs it can be fiddly to get t attached to your motherboard.
It's cheap and it does what it says on the tin - my CPU runs cold. 8/10
Spot on
With this cooler I was able to pass the OCCT test my CPU ran @ 100% for just over an Hour without fault. I Removed the new Evo cooler to use this one and couldn't believe the differance. -10c. In this case cheeper worked out to be better. loss of a Star not the best looking.
steady hand needed
Slightly fiddly to fit but you won't need to remove the motherboard from the case to do so, 10 minutes of patients and a steady hand should do it! The fan is much quieter than the one on the Intel stock cooler and at least 10c more efficient.
Amazing value for the amount of money it costs and easily outperforms much more expensive rivals
