Root Cyclone Technology: A Dyson cyclone spins air at high speed. Dirt and dust are thrown out of the airflow and collected in the bin, not on filters or in bags. So unlike other machines, Dyson doesn't clog and lose suction, so it picks up more dirt.

Large debris channel: The additional front channel on the cleaner head means that larger dirt and debris are not 'snowploughed' across a smooth floor, so you can pick up larger pieces such as rice and nuts first time.

No running costs: The pre-motor filter removes particles down to 0.1 micron and is washable. The post-motor filter traps harmful carbon emissions from the motor. This filter never needs replacing.

Approved for allergy sufferers: DC14 Telescope Reach models have been approved by the British Allergy Foundation.

Instant stair cleaning: Extendable hose reaches to the top of the stairs.

Hygienic and quick to empty: No need to touch the dust - just push the trigger.

Car cleaning: For easier cleaning in confined areas the tools can be fitted directly to the end of the wand or the hose.

Motorised brushbar: All Dyson uprights have a motorised brushbar. This improves pick up on carpets by sweeping the dust and fibres trapped in the carpet pile into the constant Dyson airflow.

Anti-jam brush bar: To prevent belt breakage or gear damage, the brushbar disengages and makes a ratchet noise to warn when it is obstructed.

Auto carpet-height adjustment: Maintains constant contact with the floor to maximise dust pick-up.

Clear Bin: You can see how well the Dyson works, there are no bags to buy, you can always tell when it's full and it is easy to empty.

Dual handle: Lowered handle for easy carrying.

Edge cleaning whiskers: DC14's suction is channelled right to the edges of the cleaner head, unlike many uprights. Its specially-designed whiskers, angled to reach down between the skirting board and the floor, flick the dust from the edge into the airflow.

Absolutely amazing! Thought everything I had heard about Dyson's was just hype until I bought this one. As I have a variety of wooden, laminate, carpeted and tiled floorings this seemed the best one to get. What an investment! Works so quietly and easily, noticed a huge different in the floors immediately. The carpets look so much cleaner and the amount of hair and pet fur it picks up is amazing. Well worth every penny. Can't believe my family and I now have rows over who gets to use it!! Can't recommend it enough.

Which is a bit surprising for a vacuum cleaner, but I must say I am absolutely delighted with it. Purchased to replace my old DC01, which to be fair, was still plodding on, but requiring constant maintenance and a supply of new filters.
As you would expect from a new Dyson, does an absolutely fabulous job on the carpets, though I think the "All Floors" functionality, like the "Animal" and "Allergy" are all a bit gimmicky.
Two particular refinements I am taken with though are:
- the ease with which these cleaners can now be emptied
- no more replacement filters every 3 months
As far as cleaners go, Dyson's are fairly expensive, but in my experience worth every penny.

Forget Immitations - Get a Dyson!!!
I can't stress how much I was impressed with this vacuum cleaner! I'd vacummed the day before my new Dyson arrived, and a quick vacuum later (literally 2 minutes) and the dust bin was full!!!

The design is perfect and is such an ergonomic design - it has all the extra fittings that you need and is light and nimble.

Highly recommended!!!!
