Synopsis
When the Governor's daughter, Elizabeth Swann, is kidnapped by Captain Barbosa, her childhood friend and admirer, Will Turner teams up with pirate Jack Sparrow to save her. However, Barbosa and the crew of his ship, the Black Pearl, are cursed. Trapped in skeletal forms that reveal themselves in moonlight, they intend to use Elizabeth's blood to remove the curse and return them to the land of the living.

Should be called the "Lost DiscS" edition
VERY disappointed in the 3-disc description of this. I received only the 3rd disc on the 2 attempts Amazon made to send this. The packaging didn't even look as though there was supposed to be more than one disc.

a great way to pass some time
the first pirates of the carribean is a fine example of placing alot of talent together along with a good script and sitting back and reaping in the results,it works for us the viewer and of course the producers of the film who surely would have known a profit was in the post for them,all of that works and the film delivers thrills and action that few can turn their nose down at.
Eseentially a family film,this should not though be overlooked by cynical adults,the story involves captain jack sparrow,played by johnny depp who wants his ship,the black pearl,back after an act of mutiny by his old crew,throw will turner,played by orlando bloom,who has pirate blood but has that to learn,and royalty of sorts in elizabeth played by kiera knightley who wishes for something more than her one track existence,and captain barbossa played by geoff rush,who is the villain who along with his crew are the living dead wanting freedom from it and with all of that you have the ingredients for an action film that also delivers laughs and a sense of drama and edge ,too ignore this is to miss out,nothing more can or should be said.

A-haar, a great film captain!
This is a fantastic film. Absoultely amazing effects and an awesome storyline. All of the extra features are fine and very good but i would just stick to the film because that is the best part. Not a waste of money for the extras but they aren't exactly a great use of time! Not taking anything away from the film. Technicly and effect-wise one of the best around! 9/10!
