Synopsis
And how to get an Eiffel of the City while you're there! Two million people enjoy Disneyland Paris every year. This is a big market for you but you have to display the book. Simon's inside knowledge and research provide the ingredients for a perfect family holiday. A full run - down of the resort plus the best sights to see in Paris itself - a good change of pace for mum and dad. You've trusted him in Orlando where you have made him Britain's top guide-book author into the USA. His readers rave about his guides, so do your customers a favour by introducing them to his less well-known guide to the Disneyland Resort Paris experience. Simon Veness tries everything, tests everything and reports it like it is. He is meticulous about identifying which rides for which age ranges. And he pays a lot of attention to getting the most out of every day for a family of mixed age ranges. With this book it is like having a personal advisor with you for every aspect of your time there.
From the Publisher
The full-out guide to the Disneyland Resort as well as Paris itself (hence How To Get An Eiffel Of The City, too!), the Veness duo's inside knowledge and research provide the ingredients for a perfect family holiday. And, with some two million British visitors every year, this remains a huge market for all concerned. The latest edition provides a full run-down of the resort, plus the best sights to see in Paris itself - a good change of pace for mum and dad. You've trusted them in Orlando, where readers have made them Britain's top guide-book authors into the USA. Simon and Susan simply go out and test everything, reporting it like it is, not how the brochures want people to see it. They are meticulous about identifying which rides are suitable for which age ranges and they pay special attention to getting the most out of every day for a family of mixed age ranges. With this book, it is like having a personal advisor with you for every aspect of your time there.
From the Author
The third edition of our latest Disney offering (and our 14th Disney parks guidebook) sees a completely-revamped edition in many aspects as Susan Veness adds her expertise to the mix for the first time. With more hotel choice and more ways to 'do' Disneyland Paris than ever before, people simply must read up in advance to ensure they get the very most out of their visit, whether it is just a day, two days or more. The Disneyland Resort Paris experience is now significantly more demanding than it has been in the past, and there is still a lot of new development going on, but we have our finger firmly on the pulse and can steer readers towards all the best rides and attractions, with the minimum of fuss and the maximum enjoyment.
Disney parks are what we specialise in, and we believe no-one has the same eye for detail and user-friendliness in a guidebook that we do; we have been committed park-goers for more than 30 years, and that experience is carefully distilled into everything we write, as we hate the idea of people visiting the theme parks and not appreciating them to the full. It is easy to go wrong with such a vastly complex and demanding holiday, but we will ensure you stay on the right paths (especially if you use the book in conjunction with our companion website,askdaisy.net/disneylandparis).
With this new edition, we have incorporated all the latest changes and up-dates in the parks (including the major new attractions to come in 2006 and 07), revamped many of the hotel references and added more user-friendly features, like our top tips for places to eat and drink. We have also included our unique Personalised Itinerary Planner in the Paris mix for the first time.
There is SO much to enjoy in Disneyland Paris, please make sure you do it with us, and we can guarantee you will have a truly magical time!

Disney Guide
We have just returned from short trip to Disney Paris. This book was quite useful, but best read with a degree of caution. The authors seem to be lacking any real objectivity and are so gushy about the resort some parts of the book are nauseating to read. Whilst I would agree Disneyland is a great experience for children and a lot of fun for all, the authors don't point out the poor points clearly enough. e.g. the hotel accommodation (we stayed at the Vienna Dream Castle) is below par for the star ratings given, I imagine because they have a captive audience and can get away with murder. Also the food outlets are all extortionate.
Don't Leave Home without It
Having bought this book for a trip in July, we found ourselves needing it sooner as made an impromptu visit last week. The book is well structured and written and gives an accurate view of the parcs and village.
With children ranging in age from 3 to 7 the description of the rides and attractions made selecting what we were going to do and when easy. Also the information about the "shortcuts" for moving about in the main parc worked perfectly.
What's more, food is not cheap in in the village and we dined at Planet Hollywood where we took advantage of the 20% discount awarded on showing this book. The money saved was actually enough to pay for this book more than twice over.
Far from Up to Date
I bought the previous edition of this book for a trip several years ago and found it completely invaluable. With tonnes of tips and tricks of the trade, it helped us get the most out of our trip to DLP.
A return visit last year was also helped by the same copy of the book.
We are going yet again this year and I had a look at this new edition with view to updating my knowledge of the parks. I was a little disappointed...
Since this book seems to be only renewed every two years, this current edition is already vastly out of date. Because DLP has an on-going evolution unlike any other Disney park in the world, this makes it difficult to be bang up to date with information.
Since this book has been published, we are now about to begin DLP's 15th Birthday celebrations, will soon see the opening of two new rides (Crush's Coaster and Cars Race Ralley in June) with another on the way early next year (The Tower of Terror in January reportedly). This book does not even cover the Buzz Lightyear ride in any great detail nad that has been there since last April.
Saying all of this, you cannot find a better guide than this for DLP and it is certainly recommended that this book be bought before your first visit to the parks (well before if possible as it includes excellent info about booking and where to stay as well as how to prepare for your trip). I suggest augmenting this book with the accompanying website that has up to the minute info on all that is going on.
