From the Publisher
The full-out guide to the Disneyland Resort as well as Paris itself (hence How To Get An Eiffel Of The City, too!), the Veness duo's inside knowledge and research provide the ingredients for a perfect family holiday. And, with some two million British visitors every year, this remains a huge market for all concerned. The latest edition provides a full run-down of the resort, plus the best sights to see in Paris itself - a good change of pace for mum and dad. You've trusted them in Orlando, where readers have made them Britain's top guide-book authors into the USA. Simon and Susan simply go out and test everything, reporting it like it is, not how the brochures want people to see it. They are meticulous about identifying which rides are suitable for which age ranges and they pay special attention to getting the most out of every day for a family of mixed age ranges. With this book, it is like having a personal advisor with you for every aspect of your time there.
From the Author
Well, here it is, nearly two years in the making and the product of numerous visits - in a multitude of different ways - to Europe's No 1 tourist attraction. Disneyland Paris has come on in leaps and bounds since its troubled opening in 1992, and its popularity is still growing at a healthy rate. Now with two theme parks and a host of associated development, any visit here has to be planned in some detail and with a good awareness for the variety on offer - and that's where the Brit's Guide comes in. I will steer you through the full picture of the resort, its attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants (both in Disneyland itself and in the surrounding areas - including Paris), how to get there, how to dodge the worst of the queues, what you can expect to pay, how to cope with the (varied!) weather and, most importantly of all, how to plan for it. A Disney theme park remains one of the most enjoyable experiences on earth, but it is easy to get it wrong and miss out on some of the essential 'magic.' Therefore, take me along with you (as hundreds of thousands of fellow Brits have already done with my Orlando book), and I absolutely guarantee to show you a good time! Disneyland Paris is possibly the most artistic and beautiful of all the nine Disney parks around the world, so don't miss out on the chance to do it in the best possible style. Bon voyage......

Disneyland Paris is his third title in the Brits Guide series, but he doesn't intend to stop there!

The definitive guide to Disneyland Paris
This is an absolute top notch book. I used it extensively for my family's first trip to Disneyland Paris last month. All the advice was excellent and it enabled to enjoy our visit to Disneyland Paris to the full.
Pay particular attention to the "Brit's tips" scattered throughout the book. The book is well written and small enough to be kept in your backpack for easy reference.
I have no hesitation recommending it.
So, if you are planning on a trip this year get the book now.
Far from Up to Date
I bought the previous edition of this book for a trip several years ago and found it completely invaluable. With tonnes of tips and tricks of the trade, it helped us get the most out of our trip to DLP.
A return visit last year was also helped by the same copy of the book.
We are going yet again this year and I had a look at this new edition with view to updating my knowledge of the parks. I was a little disappointed...
Since this book seems to be only renewed every two years, this current edition is already vastly out of date. Because DLP has an on-going evolution unlike any other Disney park in the world, this makes it difficult to be bang up to date with information.
Since this book has been published, we are now about to begin DLP's 15th Birthday celebrations, will soon see the opening of two new rides (Crush's Coaster and Cars Race Ralley in June) with another on the way early next year (The Tower of Terror in January reportedly). This book does not even cover the Buzz Lightyear ride in any great detail nad that has been there since last April.
Saying all of this, you cannot find a better guide than this for DLP and it is certainly recommended that this book be bought before your first visit to the parks (well before if possible as it includes excellent info about booking and where to stay as well as how to prepare for your trip). I suggest augmenting this book with the accompanying website that has up to the minute info on all that is going on.
An invaluable guide to Disneyland Paris and the area...
Simon Veness is truly 'Mr Disney' providing anyone planning a trip to the Disneyland Paris Resort with all the information they will ever need - all written in an easy to read and follow style. The 'Brit Tips' scattered throughout the book give you those little insider tips that make any visit a bit more special.
The book covers everything from planning your arrival, buying tickets, where to stay, how to negotiate the parks to avoid the queues as much as possible, when and where to eat to information on the various special events - a unique feature of this park - such as Halloween, Bonfire Spectaculars etc. The sections on what there is to visit in the immediate area and slightly further afield in Paris are great for anyone planning a slightly longer trip to Mickey Land.
I'd defy anyone to find a better informed and more useful guide to this resort!
