Outstanding Security Software!
McAfee Security Suite 2007 is the third version of McAfee Internet Security products I have used, after recently upgrading from McAfee 2006. McAfee have completely redesigned the interface, which makes for a refreshing change and making it easier to navigate. The program has more useful and advanced features, like the built in computer health and performance tools, which cleaned 3GB of obsolete data and registry entries from my computer. This new version also comes with McAfee Site Advisor, which advises the user which sites are safe and which are infested with Adware, Spyware and other scams. Installation went very smoothly and I experienced no problems at all, updates downloaded and installed instantly without any trouble. Over the years, I have used Panda Platinum, Norton Internet Security Suite (Least effective software), Free versions of AVG, Avast! (Both Antivirus Software that are fairly good for freebies) and Zonealarm Firewall of which I experienced problems with, so I uninstalled it immediately. In my experience, out of all these computer and Internet security software packages I have used, nothing has proven to be better than McAfee in detecting and removing viruses. McAfee has eliminated any virus that tries to infest my computer for the past year and with this new upgrade, I'm sure it will stay that way.

:NOTE:
If you are upgrading from previous McAfee software like I have. Make sure you download the McAfee removal tool from their website. When you have done this, close McAfee and then run the removal tool, this will eliminate any problems when installing this new version. Also make sure you uninstall Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition because it is incompatible with McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007.

Even Better Now.
I have always used McAfee products,preferring them to Norton,and this is their best and most comprehensive release yet. I had 2006 Security Suite installed,but my subscription ran out at the end of October,so i was no longer receiving free updates. I decided on this Upgrade version because it represented over £20 saving on the "full" version....although both are identical as far as i know.
I expected this upgrade version to install similar to other upgrades of other programmes i have used. ie. during the install process it asks for a previous version to be inserted briefly for authentication purposes. This never happened and the programme installed fully. I started to wonder....and read on the back of the case that you would get free updates "for as long as your annual subscription is renewed and active" I then had a sinking feeling,knowing that my annual subscription had run out.....would i have to pay for a years free updates online?
I needn't have worried because as soon as i connected to the net and logged in to Mcafee as an existing user,the programme updated itself and confirmed that my new subscription was valid for exactly 1 year from the date of installation.

As has been already mentioned,the user interface is all new this time,but is very easy to use. McAfee Quicklean is integrated into the Security Centre this time,rather then as a separate programme like before. I found this this feature to be quite useful,it lets you individually specify which areas for it to clean....and it certainly did seem to free up more space than i have been able to before by usual methods.

Overall,a very good programme,and this upgrade version is all you need if you already have a McAfee account.

This is a very competent Security Suite
Regardless of the more negative reviews of this product, it is very effective indeed. I don't know why some people reluctantly begrudge having to install firewall / anti-virus software on their PCs. You wouldn't leave your house everyday with all your personal belongings inside, with the door unlocked or open would you ? No, quite right; a security suite is fundamental on your PC and this is a very good one.

It has many good features, which you may or may not wish to use. It is a particularly good piece of software for installing on your kids computers. It gives you plenty of parental control and information about good and bad websites and their type of content.

Contrary to opinion, it does not slow your PC down dramatically. It is always running and therefore will take up some PC resources. Much of this depends on how much RAM you have, the power / speed of your PC and the download / upload speeds of your broadband connection.

I have used most of the new Security Suites in my job including Steganos, Kaspersky and Norton etc. I recommend McAfee for it's ease of setup, it's ease of use and it's functionality. It is a very good product and well worth the investment.
