A great game of fun and suspense!5

This is a grossly under-priced game which will mislead many into thinking that this might not be such a great game. As a games' collector, believe it or not, I can tell you that this is the sort of game that would have retailed at around £19.99p almost twenty years ago!

This game is fun. Each player has to move his 'Jack' character up a beanstalk twenty places (denoted by plastic leaves) This is not as easy as it sounds - not when the giant has a tendency to 'drop' his 'bean' through a hole at the top and through a white cloud which sends it hurtling down through the insides of the beanstalk; the leaves you are hanging onto for dear life begin to 'shake' as a result! Then, as if that's not enough; the whole beanstalk begins to twirl and 'quake' to finish off! If you're still hanging onto your leaf at the end of all this, then you're pretty lucky! The really great thing about this game is, that it's so unpredictable, because it is amazing how easy you can fall off some times, but then equally amazing as to how you find yourself still hanging on at others!

An extremely well-made game with a battery component (which are always more exciting and interesting for kids) There's a delightful video of the Ad. for this game at the 'Drummond Park' Site for those who would like to see before purchasing.

My only criticism, is the brevity of the rules, and particularly the setting-up instructions - they look as though they have been 'rushed'. We took ages setting the game up, because the illustrations are not good, and they lack any detailed guidance on assembly. As a result, we fitted the giant on his cloud the wrong way round, (because there is no-where that tells you which way is right - either in the diagrams and the lack of any markings on the plastic) but don't despair!

A great game of suspense and well worth the money!

FUn but long and hard to play!3
This game is good fun, the kids love pressing the giants head and watching him throw the bean down the stalk, knocking players off the stalk. But this happens quite a lot and for young children it can be quite disheartening to fall off time and time again, and it makes the game very long, too long for concentration to be maintained, as the game is just the same thing - it isn't like a long game like monopoly! It is also quite hard to place your player on the stalk, it takes more dexterity and patience than the age group it is designed for really have. A game my niece really loves, but we as adults all hate!

A hit with the kids4
This is easily my 5-year-old daugher's favourite game and most of her friends that come around to our house want to play this game if they have played it before. The rules are simple so it's perfect for young ones and a lot of fun for them too. Be aware though that sensitive kids do struggle a bit with their emotions when the giant makes the beanstalk shake and their "Jack" falls off the branch it was hanging on so that they have to start from the bottom again. The game itself is quite well made and still survives my 2-year-old's attempts at destroying it.
