"Collins Dog Owner's Guides" is a well-established series of illustrated, practical books for pedigree dog owners. Each book is written by a breeder or show judge, and the consultant vets to the series are John and Caroline Bower. The text is practical and authoritative and illustrated throughout with specially commissioned photographs of champion dogs and practical step-by-step photoguides to training. Each book is divided into three main sections: you and your dog - breed characteristics and behaviour; caring for your dog - practical information on feeding, training, grooming, exercising, breeding and showing; and healthcare and first aid.

Customer Reviews
Superb, informative, must have!!
This book was very useful even before the puppy was in the house. It tells you about how to choose the breeder you buy your puppy from which is very useful - you know the questions to ask when you go to pick the dog up. It also has details of what to bring with you in the car, for the puppies' journey to its new home.
Easy to use format, good layout and cute pictures! Excellent read and well worth the money!
A good book in theory but my westie is more Marley than Westie!
Never having owned a dog before this was a great introduction to the care and nurture that Westie's need and has been a great reference tool when faced with common dog dilemmas.
