This book saved my rescue from rehoming.5
What can I say, we had just about reached the end of our tether and were facing the heartbreak of trying to find another home for our rescue dog because her protective, guarding, fear aggression was escalating and we found this hard to manage, then I read this book from cover to cover in a week, I couldn't put it down. Every aspect of our dogs behaviour was shown and clear common sense answers given, both to why this was happening and what to do to correct it. We followed the rules and I'm not joking within a week we saw dramatic positive changes and now despair has turned to hope. We have a wonderful dog who is learning to trust us to protect her,we have a way to go but now I know we'll do it and she'll stay with the family who love her (a bit too much I now realise!). This man truly knows his stuff and not once have I had to use anything bordering on cruelty just rules and boundaries like those kids need to feel secure.Read it, enjoy it, even if your dog is balanced you'll learn something of benefit and if you have problems the answers are here, just open your mind to a different way of loving a dog, I promise my dog has chilled already and long may it continue Thankyou Cesar Milan from us,our kids and especially our dog!

If you only read ONE dog book, read this one, BUT....3
.... if you've already read quite a few, you won't find this one radically different from Jan Fennell et. al. It's basically another book about how dogs should be treated as though they are members of your pack, and so on and so forth.

The main difference between this book and a few of the others I've read is the amount of emphasis that is put on taking your dog for a long walk, every day, early in the day. That alone was a revelation to me (evening dog walker) and has made a difference to my pair.

I've been an avid watcher of "The Dog Whisper" on The Discovery Cannel for a while, so I was thrilled to read a book by one of my hero's, Cesar Milan. As the proud owner of a pitbull (Topper) I have a vested interest in Ceasr's magic. I used to feel guilty making Topper surrender to my commands. But as pack animals, dogs need and love having boundaries. My dog is not a person. He is a D-O-G who will take the lead, if I don't. I've noticed a shift in my dog's energy since he has started listening to my "calm and assertive" nature. Cesar states that "Dogs live in the moment". My dog has been doing naturally what I've been striving to do all my life.

I've found an easy way to access the moment by reading "How To Create A Magical Relationship" by Ariel and Shya Kane. This engaging and inspiring book effortlessly dropped me into the moment by simply listening. Hey, if my dog can listen, so can I. Enjoy!
