Editorial Reviews

Review
A wonderful treat for everyone who loves donkeys, this well written and beautifully illustrated book is packed with advice on the care and welfare of these charming 'beasts of burden'. An absorbing book that cannot fail to enchant and move readers, I would heartily recommend it as the definitive guide to donkey care and management. --Equestrian Trade News

About the Author
Dr Elisabeth Svendsen was born in West Yorkshire. She founded and registered The Donkey Sanctuary as a charity in 1973 and had 38 donkeys under her care when, later that year she received a legacy of 204 donkeys! Over 12,500 donkeys have been taken into care since then, and the Charity's work overseas has enabled thousands of working donkeys in developing countries around the world being given free veterinary treatment. Dr Svendsen also founded the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children & Donkeys which provides the riding facilities for children with special needs and disadvantages in centres based around the UK.
