Customer Reviews
A superb book
This book is a incredible and drmatic story
of legendery Colin McRae's life. explaining
about his childhood right through to half way through the 2001 season. A great buy.
An excellent view of the best in the world
Colin McRae is still the best rally driver of the current generation and this book gives some inside into why. The format of having additional input from his family and colleagues helps to provide a different perspective to the usual biography and the external insights are particularly illuminating after his massive accident in Corsica in 2000.
The only complaint is that the book ends before the World Championship final rounds. As it was such a nail biting event until Stage 4 of the RAC, the final round, Colin's insight on that is sorely missing.
If you want to know why he is the best read this book.
An excellent insight to the worlds best rally driver.
As this type of motor sport is hardley televised on the BBC Sport programes,or any other TV channels, this book is a real eye opener as to what its like being the best british rally driver. Right from the start when he realised that all he was interested in was rallying to the ups and downs as discribed through the years to get to where he is today are well detailed and explained, and for most of the read quite humerous. Untill you read this book you will never realise and appreciate how much hard work Colin Mcrae has given, and the risks he has taken to get Britain up there with the best. A must for all die hard rally fans who support him, and feel they want to get to know him better.
