Night, Night, Baby - A rhyming flap book5
This great rhyming flap book is suitable for under 2s, and is one of the Ladybird 'board book' range (approx 21x21cms).

As you open the 5 page book, the left page has a simple and clearly-printed rhyming text "Look! Behind Lion there's a sleepy head, come on now - it's time for bed". The opposite page (right) has a picture of 'someone' hiding behind a large shaped flap of a toy (in this case a toy lion) which when pulled down reveals a baby. There are 5 rhymes and 5 shaped flaps : the first 4 flaps reveal a 'hiding' baby and the final flap (of a window) reveals a shiny star. Each of the text pages also has the words "night, night, baby" inscribed after the 'rhyme' in shiny silver.

This book is highly recommended for inclusion in any child's first 'library'. The beautiful illustrations are simple, bright and colourful, yet also fit in with the theme of the book - to lull your child to sleep! This book will also grow with your child, as the simple text makes it a very suitable early reading book. If you haven't got this already, what are you waiting for?!

Great first bedtime book for babies5
I bought this book for my son when he was 3 months old and I wanted to set up a bedtime routine. He absolutely loves this book. And still does at 15 months old. I would recommend it to any parent.

A lovely bedtime read3
Yes this is a very sweet book and a perfect one for that bedtime hour with a child under two. The pull down flaps are quite big which means they are perfect for little hands but this can also mean a tear or two after just a few readings. The illustrations are lovely and while the text does rhyme I found it quite forgettable. There is a mirror at the back which is not quite as big as you might expect. The appeal is simply the cute illustrations and the bigger than normal size of the book and pull down flaps.
