Great variety!
Cliff Richards is really in his element here, with a true variety act. I particularly enjoyed the five minute reading from Genesis and it's nice to see that even Richard Dawkins partakes in the inevitable standing-ovation that follows. One would have to be grudgingly honest and say that the rendition of 'Nessun Dorma' falls a little flat- a full tritone flat in one instance. Still, did the director really have to pan to a close-up of Pavarotti's incredulous face when Cliff struggled with the high C? Anyhow, the 'Peter Piper of Pop' more than makes up for things alongside Gary Wilmot- in a duet version of 'Morning has Broken' (a real tour of force!).

One word of warning- while it's largely good clean fun, he does cross the line with a couple of risqué gags. The anecdote about his tour to the Phillipines is in staggeringly poor taste. All in all, a fine show but not one for the kids!

If you want a good laugh....
I have watched the clips of this program on YouTube so many times. When I first saw it...the first several times...I was hysterical with laughter at some of the jokes, 'skits' if you can call it that, etc. Tears rolled down my face. When I saw it available for purchase I didn't hesitate in buying it. It is so much better on DVD than the clips as the picture is so much clearer, etc. Definitely a 'must have' if you enjoy a good laugh! Oh yes..and the music and chatting was pretty good too! :o) Absolutely no complaints from this customer on this one.
