Product Description

IDEO is the world's largest and most successful design and development firm. Its client list is an A-Z of leading international corporations, from Amtrak, BMW and Canon to Nike, Pepsi and Samsung. The company was formed in 1991 and its principals, David Kelley, Bill Moggridge and Mike Nuttall, are design pioneers of California's Silicon Valley, riding the wave of high-tech innovation in the region. A multi-disciplinary organization with more than 350 staff worldwide, IDEO has a distinctive design methodology and a renowned culture and process of innovation, which has resulted in an unrivalled track record in developing the products of tomorrow. The original 2001 edition was the first in-depth study of IDEO's working methods and design output, and this new edition brings the story up to date, looking at the company's most recent work, such as that for Prada. It takes an unprecedented look behind the scenes in Palo Alto, San Francisco and London. Featuring essays, interviews and case studies, it is a highly illustrated guide to one of the world's most creative companies.

Customer Reviews

inspirational and informative5
This book is a good informative book about the arguably the world's most successful design firm. The book contains many of their manufactured products and speculative projects which are extremely interesting. The design of the Muji Cd-player is in here too! This book is defintely more about the company's histroy and its place in contemporary design today. Buy it for inspiration and a look at some of their working methods.

Brilliant5
This is a brilliant book that illustrates what a brilliant design firm Ideo really is. If you are an industrial design student like myself this book will make you enjoy your work more.

Proud to see it on my book shelf
