Manufacturer's Description
This vacuum is a must for all homes that dislike doing the vacuuming
The RC3000 (Robocleaner) cleans all domestic floors even when you are not home. Simply plug in the base station, switch on the unit, select the cleaning period and let the Robocleaner do the rest. After finishing its work, it returns automatically to the base station where its dust container is emptied, into the base station paper filter bag, and its batteries recharged. The navigation for the unit is provided by infrared beam and the Robocleaner can find its own way back to the base station there is no need for set boundaries just plug in and go.
The unit works completely autonomously, has four fall sensors that detect stairs and can travel over obstacles such as cables. The RC3000 has four suction settings that will increase performance depending on soil quantity of the surface being cleaned. The Robocleaner with its very small dimensions and integral contact sensors guide it carefully around all obstacles. The RC3000 does all the domestic vacuuming work in your home, it can continuously vacuum throughout the day and night aided by its 'quiet' mode the unit will not disturb you

Fully automatic vacuum cleaning
Does EXACTLY what it says on the box. VERY easy to set up and get going. Very quiet in operation (apart from a 10-15 second blast when the robot docks and the big vac in the base sucks the dust from the little robot). The robot does climb up onto thick rugs up to around 2cm and does not get stuck under furniture. It can get hung up on odd things like the base bar of a folding camping chair or when the wheel falls down the 2 inch gap between a rug and the skirting board. The robot can nudge a door closed if, like me, you oil your hinges, trapping it in that room, so best to wedge the door open if you want to clean more than one room at a time. Be aware that the suction on the robot is not as strong as on conventional mains vacuum cleaners so it does not deep clean carpets, but is wonderful for laminate, lino or tiled floors and keeps the surface clean on carpets and rugs. Overall, an excellent product!
We call her Emily
We are delighted with our Karcher Robotic Vacuum cleaner; so much so that she is part of the family and we call her Emily! We have a new house with wooden floors throughout except for the kitchen which is tiled. No carpets to get in the way and, so far, not much clutter so we can let Emily out to just get on with the work - while we work or relax. She goes through all rooms cleaning thoroughly and doing just what the manufacturers claim. She is not noisy (except when she returns to base station to be sucked out) and the amount of dirt she collects is amazing. We also find that, as well as vacuuming, the constant movement across the floors polishes the wood. She stops at the stairs, goes under the beds and chairs and only once got stuck behind a door. The information on the website was helpful so we knew what we were getting. The set up instructions were very clear and she was cleaning the floors within an hour of being unpacked. We already have a robotic lawn mower, so despite being technically OAPs, we like techy things but don't like cleaning. She ticks all the boxes!
