    Everyone should have one!4
I've bought five mp3 players in the hunt for one that my boys can use to listen to "talking books" on, and only recently found that the proper terminology for what I've been missing is "Mid-track resume". It seems that none of the players I've bought remember where they were when you turn them off, so if you're in the middle of a talking book and turn off, when you turn back on, you're back at the start of the book with potentially hundreds of "step forward"s to do to find where you were again!

THIS MP3 PLAYER REMEMBERS WHERE IT IS WITHIN A TRACK WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN - WOOHOO!!!

This is a critical point for those into long mp3 files like talking books, classical music, progressive rock music etc.

I rather cruelly deducted one star because I don't find the buttons very intuitive.

It looks great, sounds great and is definitely worth the money.

If only it had an SD RAM slot...

    An excellent product5
I have purchased many products from Amazon before and this is the very first item I have reviewed as I was so impressed with it. I received this item for Christmas as a gift.

First of all the display is two colour, yellow and blue, and exceptionally good and clear. It displays the artist, album and the track that is currently being played. The headphones that are supplied are also good quality. The volume is controlled digitally on the MP3 player itself and not on the headphones. The MP3 player has a built in microphone and can record sound.

I did not have to install any software on my computer at all, although it does come with a mini-CD ROM with Windows 98 drivers. Using Windows Media Player it was easy to synchronise the music I have on my computer with the MP3 player. It supports MP3 and WMA files, but it can also be used as an normal USB pen stick by pressing the "M" button when connected to a computer.

    Overall an excellent product.

    Excellent value4
I bought this to replace my Creative MP3 player, which, after long service, conked out. The sound of the MP140 is as good or better; it is just as easy to use; it has twice the capacity - and it cost between a third and a quarter of what I paid for the previous instrument.

    So, I'm very well pleased.

Two quibbles, one minor, one more important. Minor point: the control buttons look a bit cheap and nasty - but they work perfectly well. More important point: the written instructions are appalling, and seem to have been dashed off by some techie in his/her dinner hour - this might be a real difficulty for someone who hasn't used an MP3 player before. (That's the only reason I've given it a 4-star, not a 5-star, rating.)
