Overview
Adobe Dreamweaver is the industry-standard web development tool. The beauty of the program is it lets you create full-featured websites without the need to first learn how to code using HTML and other web programming languages. The easiest and fastest way to start using Dreamweaver's powerful features is to let two experts - Adam Stokoe and Stuart Hogton - walk you through them one by one. Instead of wasting time on features you may not use, Adam clearly explains everything in CS3 from the essential basics of web design to the most useful advanced tools.
Dreamweaver can appear complex for newcomers to the software, but this DVD's easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach makes building websites a breeze. Start with the basics such as arranging windows, naming files and adding email links, and then explore the more advanced and technical skills as adding flash animations, embedding mp3 files and validating code. By the end of this DVD, you'll be able to create your own website from start to finish.
Stuart details all the latest CS4 enhancements, including Adobe AIR authoring support, the new "Related Files and Code Navigator" tool and Subversion integration. This DVD puts you in control of what you learn and how fast you progress. You can pause, fast forward, rewind and skip chapters, and practical exercises at the end let you practise your new skills by building a complete working website. Learn from the comfort of your own home, at your own pace. Order today and build your first website tomorrow, or update your existing Dreamweaver skills.

Back to basics
Always been weary of Dreamweaver, despite it being included with my Adobe Design package. I fired up this DVD and began to realise the possibilities of this industry standard software, as up to now I've only been using iWeb. This package teaches you to understand what you're doing, rather than telling you what to do, which is highly important in the learning process. I'm now confident enough to build a good site, and I've always got this to fall back on for more advanced processes!
Very informative - highly recommended
I've dabbled in Dreamweaver on and off, but never used a training DVD before - all I can say is that I wish I'd seen this when I first started out!
It isn't the easiest subject to grasp, (and I'm not the most technically minded person) but I could have picked up things in minutes with this DVD which have taken me an age to master on my own.
There's a lot to be said for learning as you go, but when the instructors lay things down this simply, you really don't need to struggle on your own. £40 is quite expensive, but then I guess for the information you get, it could be money well spent if you're looking to do this professionally.
If you're serious about creating a web site from scratch, I can't think of a better place to start!
When Adobe Becomes Easy
There is no doubt that Adobe Dreamweaver is a brilliant software package that allows you to create a stunning website. However there is also doubt that Dreamweaver isn't the simplest software to get to grips with, just the idea of learning HTML code gives me a headache. But at the end of the day if you want to get the full benefits on offer and want to really excel then this "Core Video Training" for Dreamweaver CS3 & CS4 from Mediaroots is the ideal solution.
While I'm a big fan of several Adobe products especially the photographer's best friend Photoshop, I had never used or even dreamed of using Dreamweaver. I had no idea what to expect from this Video training, and whether or not I would be able to keep up with it all.
Thankfully, this software features easy to understand, and comprehensive tutorials delivered by Stuart Hogton and Adam Stoke which allows the user to learn at their own pace using an informative and inspiring method. The tutorials really are great, and the two instructors are excellent in arming you with everything necessary to start a website from scratch, from the absolute basics, to more advanced topics such as integrating music files and flash animations, all are covered in brilliant and again easy to follow details.
The software is structured in such a way that it gives you the ability to skip certain topics or to go backwards and redo something that your not too sure about. This was a great advantage as you can skip things that you already know and spend more time on what you don't - saying that I didn't know that much, so I had to work through it from beginning to end.
What I enjoyed the most were the practical exercises, which really helps to retain what you have learned. It's all too easy to sit and watch a video showing you how to do something, but it's a far greater and rewarding experience to then have to use the information, and the software allows you to do just that.
More importantly the interactive elements and exercise in this video training, makes becoming fluent in what is probably the industry standard of web creation easy and painless. I had great fun using this tutorial and it has given me the knowledge and skills, but more importantly the confidence to be able to use Dreamweaver to its maximum potential, and if necessary create my own website (which I will be looking in to doing in the future.)
Overall an excellent purchase if your thinking about a new career in the web industry, wanting to update your current Dreamweaver skills, or for someone who simply wants the satisfaction to be able to create their own website out of nothing.
If Dreamweaver doesn't interest you but something else does, then it's also worth noting that there are other training titles available from Mediaroots to cover different software from Adobe, Quark, and Apple.
