save years of fruitless chord rummaging...
At last, a properly worked-out Beatles transcription, of the kind the band deserves. Guitarists like me (ie not very good) will find it a massive boon. No more scratching about trying to transpose from the original recordings or the "Beatles Complete songbook" (what was it with them and E flat?). Wondering for years how the guitar part for "Dear Prudence" was done? Here's your answer. The author claims some of the chord structures have been simplified, but in reality most of it seems to be spot on.
The only question is - what took so long?
All the songs you thought were 3-chord are nearer 17.....
Great book. Every song lyric, with chords above text. No music, so you need to know the source pretty well, but, well, you should know the source pretty well anyway. The keys all match the recordings, so you can singalongaRingo if that's your thang. Not for beginners - too many D#msus12ths for that, but fine if you've done a couple of "My First Guitar Book" type guitar books. The blame for all the D#msus12ths must go to John Paul and George (not Ringo tho' - Octopuss's Garden's a sinch) and not the editor...
An indespensible guide!
If you are a guitarist, who like the beatles do not hesistate to buy this book. It is fully comprehensive in providing the chord arrangements on guitar for every Beatles song released.
My only complaint is that some song are lead guitar based, or do not suit chord-playing (ie within you without you), but the book never claimed to cover lead playing only chords.
This book does exactly what it does on the tin, there are no hidden surprises inside; this should be enough for you to decide if yuo want this book.
