Great fun... and not too hard!4
When I first got this game, I wasn't really sure what to expect... I heard bad critisism of the movie, which, unfortunately for the story, was branded a flop. This game however, was very enjoyable.

If you enjoyed the book (like me), you may get a little frustrated at the plot (as with the movie) but the gameplay is good. The graphics are... well, mediocre, but being a life-like 3D game on this small screen, I think I'd forgive them (but nowhere near as good as animal crossing's 3D). The enemies look great, and as menacing as they should be (I was so shocked when a giant kull ran at me for the first time!). There are side quests to do while you explore the towns, such as finding a certain spot in town, running through hoops, and collecting lost things for items or gallery images.

The use of the stylus is quite good, as you learn symbols for magic spells and draw them, then, if drawn correctly, a circle with the symbol on appears, which you flick at whatever - or whomever! - you choose. This feature is great for when you want to save some of your life bar (you don't get up close), or want an enemy over and done with, but you need to use the seperate symbols often so they level up!

There is a gallery, where you unlock images of concept art from the movie (used in cut scenes in the game), which are found or gained. Throughout the game, you will also unlock mini-games which appear on the game menu.

It isn't too dificult once you've got the hang of it, and the second play is a breeze, but after a while you feel a little isolated, as you can't freely talk to villagers (they only repeat the same bunch of phrases), Saphira or Brom.

All in all, it's a good game, it's easier later on, but still challenging throughout.

Not another Film Rip off4
But wait hold on.. This is acctually something worth looking into. This game really is a game that you should not be worried about getting. Its a real treat, packed with quests and depth. It uses the DS touch screen very well with casting spells and what i really was pleased to see was its another game showing that the DS really can pull off some 3D. Its got an old school Tomb raider feel to it visual wise and feels right.

Dont rush through the game tho as if you skip all the quests you may find youll complete the thing in a week.

Awersome Game4

Great RPG IN 3D
